Mercedes me Adapter

Activate the Mercedes me Adapter.

Whether you want to set up your Mercedes me Adapter for the first time or need help reactivating it—for example, after a service—our detailed, step-by-step instructions show you how to connect to your Mercedes-Benz in just a few minutes.

Activate the Mercedes me Adapter.

We show you step-by-step how to gain personal access to your Mercedes-Benz vehicle.

First start-up.

You can collect the Mercedes me Adapter from your authorized Mercedes-Benz service partner, who will activate the service and be happy to help you set it up.

First, make sure that

Your vehicle is compatible with the Mercedes me Adapter.
You have a compatible smartphone and
You have created a personal user account at www.mercedes.me.

Step 1: Install the application

Do you have a Mercedes me Adapter, and has your authorized Mercedes-Benz repairer already linked your Mercedes me account? Then install the Mercedes me Adapter app on your smartphone.

Step 2: Login To The App

Launch the app and log in to your Mercedes me account. Then, follow the instructions in the app.

Step 3: Login To The Adapter

Connect the adapter to your vehicle’s diagnostic port (OBD2 port). If necessary, you can secure the cover to the adapter using the included mounting aid (Velcro sticker). The red LED on the adapter begins to flash.

Step 4: Connecting the adapter and smartphone via Bluetooth®Step 4: Connecting the adapter and smartphone via Bluetooth®

You can pair your smartphone with the adapter via Bluetooth® within the next three minutes. Look for the device named “MB…” in your smartphone’s Bluetooth® menu. Once your vehicle is connected to the adapter, the LED lights up continuously. If three minutes are not enough, repeat the process.

Step 5: Launching the application

Launch the app on your smartphone, log in to your Mercedes me user account if necessary, and select “Add new vehicle.” Ensure you have a good internet connection. If you have already set up a vehicle in the app, go to “My vehicle” and select “Add another vehicle.”

Step 6: Starting the engine

Start the vehicle engine when prompted by the app to complete the installation. Vehicle data is transmitted and verified, and the Authorized Repairer you registered on the Mercedes me Portal is imported into the app. Follow the app’s setup instructions through to completion. Switch off the engine again when prompted by the app and confirm the completion of the setup process.

Your vehicle has been successfully set up, and you can use all the functions of the Mercedes me Adapter.

Place the “Addendum to your vehicle’s Owner’s Manual” into your vehicle’s Owner’s Manual.

Re-commissioning

Do you want to reactivate your Mercedes me Adapter (e.g., after servicing)? Then proceed as follows:

Step 1: Connect the adapter

Reconnect the Mercedes me Adapter to the “OBD2 port” in the driver’s footwell.

Step 2: Add vehicle to the app

Tap on your vehicle in the Mercedes me Adapter app and select “Add new vehicle.” Then, follow the instructions in the app.

The Mercedes me Adapter is designed for permanent installation in the corresponding diagnostic port and should remain connected to it.
Use a cloth dampened with water for cleaning, as contact with liquids poses a risk of short-circuiting.

“Jailbroken” smartphones (those with unauthorized removal of usage restrictions imposed by the manufacturer on the mobile operating system) are not supported and are generally excluded from use.
